Visual inspection

Visual inspection

Our experienced inspectors are able to provide a detailed, cost effective analysis of a poles condition which outlines any external defects or damage and  signs of onset corrosion. Following the visual inspection, our inspectors may conduct a more comprehensive inspection using Dipstik Technology.

Dipstik technology is a non-destructive test method, in which an eddy current is induced into the pole to accurately identify a loss of thickness in column material, above and below ground where corrosion can go unnoticed. It identifies the depth, location and relative loss of thickness and it does this without the need for excavation.

Dipstik not only detects corrosion up to 3m below ground level, but also up the shaft and slip joint where corrosion is unremarkable upon visual inspection.

Comprehensive Reporting

Comprehensive Reporting

Following examination of each pole, a comprehensive report will be supplied to provide data on the current condition and performance.

The purpose of the report is to confirm, so far as reasonably practicable, whether the structural installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. The report clearly informs on the structural adequacy of the asset and identifies any damage, deterioration, defects and/or conditions which may give rise to danger.

Our report determines the overall condition of each pole resulting in a final recommendation for action.
